Anno Guide 2:

  1. For many people or organizations such as EXXON and BP this is the career. Shouldn’t these people have as much of a right to a be employed and carry out their businesses ideas as they wish since others do. These people have a right to their business and to carry out anything the deem fit in order to keep the business going. These benefits are boosting the economy and creating more and more jobs for people everyday. When the fossil fuel reserves run out, I think that these companies will quickly find the next best thing if the fate of their business relies on it.
  2. Yes, I agree with this analogy. This is a very interesting topic because there is no way to argue against the fact that fossil fuels are polluting our environment. There is too much hard evidence showing that Earth has become very polluted. But, since we have been using fossil fuels for so long, it is hard to say what penalties (if they were to be put in place) would best suit this situation. I do agree that it is not right for these corporate companies to pollute our Earth for their own benefit but how do we agree on the right penalty, and also how can someone be penalized for doing their job. If the penalties were to be put into place, I think that they should be fined whenever they are promoting, using, or distributing fossil fuels.
  3. I think that the democrat party would agree with this the most. The reason I think this is because this party is very big own making changes in the world and advocating for the youth.

  9. First they would need to stop lobbying in Washington, next they would need to stop searching for new hydrocarbons, and third they would need to go to work with the rest of us to figure out the plan where they turn themselves into energy companies not fossil fuel companies and figure out with the rest of us how to keep 80% of those reserves underground.
  10. Yes, since we are the future generation it is indeed selfish of UNE to invest in companies that could potentially lead to the “end of the world.” What is the point of us investing money into our future if we may not even have one.
  11. No, I do not know if they have divested its endowment away from the companies that are destroying our future. But, I do know that they have implemented composting in the dining halls, there are recycling bins nearly everywhere you turn encouraging you to recycle, and they have buses that encourage you to travel by bus rather than in your own car.
  12. If I had the chance I would ask him directly. But, I think it would be much more effective if there was a group of people that went to talk to him to show that more than one person is angry about this.
  13. Yes, I do agree with this. If we are not working to solve the problem then we are the problem. Right now we are at the heart of a pandemic which has shown us that if we are not willing to solve the problem, (stay home), then we are in fact the problem. If we do not individually make changes then we are not helping the situation. No matter how little or big the change is, something is better than nothing. I have already started to make changes in my own life by using only reusable cups, monitoring how long my showers are, and also being conscious of how much electricity I am using.
